Members of the GOP do so much racist shit, it's hard to distinguish sometimes when they're being racist, or just plain angry.
Raucous booing at the convention yesterday when the delegate from Puerto Rico began speaking with a Spanish accent was mistaken by many, including but not limited to Harper's, for a bizarre and unfathomable display of racism an stupidity. Many in the crowd booed and chanted "USA! USA!" as GOP moderator Reince Preibus urged the crowd to show "the lady from Puerto Rico" the respect she was due (video below).
But as it turns out, the vigorous booing had nothing to do with the Puerto Rican delegate, Zoraida Fonalledas. It was motivated by the GOP disenfranchising its own delegates.
The booing came from Ron Paul supporters, who were angry that the Maine delegation was not being seated.
