The third season of The Vampire Diaries is out on DVD today and you should all run to the store to buy it. Like right now.
And no, we're not being paid to say that (unfort). But, season 3 was just so damn good that we wanted to give you a little glimpse into the greatness. Some us Ology editors picked our absolute fave scenes of the season. There are many more. We were just forced to choose one each so please don't get mad if we missed your favorite. The birthday phone call Season 3, Episode 1 The last three minutes of the premiere episode really set up this season perfectly. As Ron Pope's "A Drop in the Ocean" played out beautifully in the background, ripper Stefan made a heartbreaking phone call to Elena on her birthday. The closet scene Season 3, Episode 3 This moment still gives me chills just thinking about it. We all started the season highly unaware of just how deep Stefan had gone down the rabbit hole, and this moment did an incredible job of boosting that uncertainty. That time Damon met Elena first Season 3, Episode 22 Granted this moment is probably not the most expected to be chosen for a favorite, but this one scene changed the course of the series. Elena's views on choosing Stefan could now be completely altered. What a whirlwind. I LOVE the first two scenes you mentioned (not so much the last one, it felt forced and like an after thought), but my favorite scene from S3 is Stefan and Elena dancing in Dangerous Liaisons. Or Stefan and Elena in their '20s outfits in Do Not Go Gentle :)

My favorite scenes would be in Episode 3.21 Before Sunset when Klaus saves Caroline from going after Elena. The look on her face. Wow, and Episode 3.05 Reckoning, Paul was incredible.

Fave S3 TVD scene for me was in the Reckoning, when Stefan is compelled to loos his humanity. Paul's acting was stunning.
