As reported in the Carthage News-Journal, Texas' Carthage High School is nearly done installing a $750,000 jumbotron in the school football stadium. It's 50 feet tall and 58 feet wide.
"It is the biggest screen in the world in high schools," said Carthage ISD Athletic Director Scott Surratt.
The director of engineering at the Illinois company who hooked them up called it the "Cadillac" of jumbotrons.
"They’ve earned it; that’s for sure," said one Carthage resident.
"I think it is awesome to have one," said a Carthage student.
"One of the biggest enticements is the learning opportunities we get for our kids, our high school television and broadcasting department," said the Carthage superintendent.
"The people in the stands always want to see their faces. Carthage’s scoreboard definitely has that capability,” said the dude from Illinois who's installing it.
