Watch Candice Glover Win 'American Idol' Season 12
Though most of us have stopped watching American Idol because of all the seasons in the show's history that have led to inevitable disappointment, there's still something to be said for the moment, those final moments where the winner is crowned, even if you're bound to forget their name within the next 15 minutes. This year, that champ is Candice Glover, Idol's first female champ since Jordin Sparks wore the crown in 2006, who triumphed through a season already heavily skewed in the ladies' favor (so much show that the entire top four were all women). Did you watch this season? Not at all. Is Candice Glover a phenomenal vocalist? Eh, she sounds okay. Will she be a bonafide diva superstar? Time will tell, but you can guess when you watch her winning moment in the video below:
Almost everyone was nervous as the programme got under-way.By 8:50 pm the results were announced . The first person in the finale is... Candice GloverBy 8:55 p.m, you were expecting Angie Miller to join Candice in the finale.. Is she?(BUZZER)NO! It is Kree. (The Price is Right losing horns)
If the wool is actually pulled over your eyes when it comes to Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey at this point, then you should probably stop doing whatever you're doing and learn about the entertainment industry. Bad press is good press, and since no one is watching Idol—and cool people actually haven't watched Idol in a very long time—drumming up controversy is one of the series' last resort as the show spirals into viewer freefall.
Nicki Minaj has taken to Twitter with some, er, sentiments about fellow judge Mariah Carey, calling her "insecure and bitter" after Perez Hilton played the instigator. Her quotes here:
"Bwaha! Burn? Shes sad i tied her record for Hot 100 entries in only 3 years of being in the game. Yep, a black female rapper. What...
For the record, I'd much rather see Nick Jonas on the American Idol judges panel than Nicki Minaj. And I ain't sorry about it.
The Jonas Brother confirmed to the Huffington Post that he is in fact in talks to join the show. "[There's been] lots of speculation … it's something I would like to do if it was right, but it's got to be right on both ends," Nick told the site. "It's an ongoing discussion, but as soon as we know if it's right … we'll see."
He goes on to talk about what kind of judge he would be. "I would be the youngest [judge], but I’ve also been a professional musician for about eight years of my life," he said. "That's a major question: Would you be okay to criticize? If I can help someone be better, that's the ultimate goal, not putting them down or making them feel irrelevant. As much as we are going to get along, there still is a bit of tough love there, which is important."
Would you want to see Nick Jonas judging American Idol?
