I'll reiterate what I wrote yesterday: even though I'm not technically qualified to label myself a New Yorker for eight more years (you apparently have to live here for 10), I have a firm understanding that you don't f*ck with anything associated or contained in The Big Apple on any level, and to prove my point following Lil Wayne's comment about how he hates the city, we've got some words from New York Senator Malcolm A. Smith directed toward Weezy's recent remarks.
"I take strong exception to the words 'I don't like New York." Senator Smith described his feelings as "angry," "taken aback," and "shocked" during a conference at Father Duffy Square put together to demand an apology (yeah, the city will go and organize this level of stuff ASAP like that).
“If you don’t like New York,” Smith said, “you don’t have to come to New York. You don’t have to sell your products here. And perhaps we won’t come to your concerts... New Yorkers are forgiving people. We're prepared to forgive Lil Wayne if in fact he makes a sincere apology."
I mean, you can't go much higher than receiving a firm diss from a government official immediately after committing your verbal tomfoolery. You're on the block, Weezy. Make your move.
