Back when I met this dude in Jay-Z's billiards room at Def Jam (no lies), he was tagged as the next big thing, at least by the reps backing him during the interview. It was one of those "maybe, maybe not moments," and, obviously by his absence since then (early 2011), you've got to lean toward the latter "maybe."
However, looking at this new track "Bend Ya" that has Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean featured on the sounds, the instinct to backtrack opinion seems proper on paper, but when it comes down to it, the whole deal is actually pretty bland, which leads me to ask how the hell this guy found the funding to nab two of hip-hop/R&B's most buzzed you talents to collaborate. Maybe Def Jam dropped the cash for the features (I'd like to think otherwise), but for what was meant to be, you don't get much from the title implications.
That's all my bit though. Here's the track; give it a listen, throw up your thoughts.
