When pestered recently, Bloc Party guitarist Russell Lissack apparently revealed that the band recently recorded a double handful of new songs that could see the light of day as soon as next month. "We still need to do the vocals, but we've been working on six new songs," he tells the Miami New Times. "Depending on how the finished things pan out, we're either going to put out a single or an EP. I think in June or July."

"Gee, I wonder if Animal Collective will release a normal, relatively straightforward music video to go with their new single 'Today's Supernatural,'" thought no one ever. True to form, our favorite wonky Baltimore indie rock weirdos have dropped a typically bizarre clip to go with their lead Centipede Hz (out September 4) single—directed by Danny Perez, the video finds what looks like a dune buggy riding Chinese New Year parade float being chased down by free-flying arms carrying clubs while, meanwhile, Avey Tare howls and plays his mushy Play-Doh keyboard.
I'd say it'll make more sense when you watch it, but well… um, yeah. Check it out below.
Not sure where a Chinese dragon goes to buy a dune buggy… or where Avey Tare got his Juggalo meets Pennywise The Clown look. But, taken all in at once, it makes you feel about the same as any other Animal Collective video: baffled, confused, a little uncomfortable and instantly regretful you didn't just put the album on and leave it at that.
I don't know, what do you guys think of the new Animal Collective video? Let everyone know in the comments section below. We can trade bug collection specimens while we're at it. Sound good?
