"Oh hey, it's my birthday so pretty please reweet me @_____!" Hey, if it can be said in less than 140 characters, it works. Right? Wrong. Sure, there's fans of certain stars that tweet at the celebrity for some hopeful interaction. Stars even ask for a session of questions from followers when they've just sat themselves in first class or are in their hair and makeup trailer. But sometimes fans just go a little too far. Friends, we love you and all but if you ask your favorite celebrity one more time to wish you a happy birthday then I am going to unfollow you. Just sit back, collect some news, and wait another year for a hopeful shoutout. Is it possible to get embarrassed for people through a computer screen? Yes, yes it is.
Here's to 10 Twitter annoyances that can be found daily on any given account.
1. Birthday Shoutout
Let's just ask for a birthday shoutout from someone we don't even know. The first asking is okay, but to continue is just a nightmare for onlookers. Some stars are really nice about it, but could you imagine being asked that by a stranger?
2. Please Retweet Me!
Retweet what? That tweet? That tweet asking me to retweet you?
3. Say A Prayer
Now, this one is a bit touchy. It's very sweet when famous people wish a follower well during a difficult time, but why did this action ever have to become a thing? Very strange.
4. Promote, Promote
There's a lot of fan handles that are just dedicated to Hilary Duff or just dedicated to Miley Cyrus. Fine, you have every right to spend your time any way you want to, but why promote the same story over and over again? Even Duff had a moment on her Twitter a few months back asking a certain handle to stop sending her the same one. Even though it was about her! That's a sign, people.
5. Bash, But Follow
Let's just bash this celebrity directly, but still follow them. If you hate them so much, why not just unfollow? It's actually common to see stars call followers out for this behavior.
6. Follow Me!
Do I know you?
7. Fake Celebrity Handles
That amazing moment when you thought Justin Bieber retweeted you, but soon realize it was from a very similiar handle. Example: @justinnbieber instead of @justinbieber
8. Profile Description Daters
"@justinbieber tweeted me on 12/5/11 at 1:25p.m., @ladygaga tweeted me on 2/25/12 at 3:17p.m."
9. RIP
RIP Kris Jenner was just trending this past weekend. #enoughsaid
10. Name Dropper
This is just the worst. People who are friends with celebrities, but don't act like "normal" friends. "Just spoke to my friend @jasonritter. Love him!" "Hey @ninadobrev, pick up your phone already!" What happened to just texting? Oh, that's right. You want everyone to know you are friends with someone famous.
