Cash Money Records Sign Paris Hilton, Becomes The Ultimate Bottom Feeder
Well, when Birdman and crew over at Cash Money Records signed Limp Bizkit a year or so back, I figured that they couldn't really sink much lower; turns out they can, as they announced this sad, foul afternoon that they have now signed Paris Hilton with the intention of releasing her house music album this summer...
Digest that for a minute.
Yes, it's bad enough that someone actually acknowledged Paris Hilton, but what's worse is that she's actually working her way back into the music industry (despite the fact that she has absolutely no talent).
Here's what she had to say on her upcoming project:
"This is a lot different than my first album. It’s really going to be house music."
She's reported to be working with Afrojack, who she's also frequently reported to be banging, so there's a detail about who's working behind the...
Juicy J Says He's Recording 75 Songs For 'Stay Trippy'
Following his career revamp with "Bandz A Maker Her Dance," his dominant presence on Rihanna's "Pour It Up" remix with Jeezy, Rozay and Tip (in my opinion), and the success of his recent "Show Out" single (I prefer the Pimp C-included remix), it's safe to say that Juicy J is in a solid stride, and with the release of his long-awaited album Stay Trippy nearing, he decided to share some words on what's going on in the back end.
Here's what he said in an interview on That Life with Carissa Rossi:
"I got over 75 songs recorded, so I just recorded a bunch of songs with a lot of different people. It wasn't like this person had to be on this one or that person had to be on that one. I was just doing songs. I would go in the studio and say, 'Let's do a song.' Sometimes I release stuff on the Internet. Sometimes I may save it for an album. It was jus...
Lu let us know that this one would be coming shortly ago, and following up the few somewhat "controversial" and "strangely-received" singles he's released from the long-anticipated upcoming Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, we've finally got, at least from a lyrical standpoint, the topic-dense sounds that have become something of a throwback to the pre-Lasers Lupe Fiasco.
Lupe shared a teaser tweet to this latest track "Lamborghini Angels," which I'll go ahead and throw out in case you missed it:
“WARNING: If you are easily offended or religiously sensitive DO NOT listen to #LamborghiniAngels it contains very strong subject matter.”
That all stated, the warning holds true, as the record alludes to Martin Luther nailing his Ninety-Five Thesis to the door of the Black Cloister way back when, and moves on to make some commentaries about the material natures of religion, as well as the falsities sold through it (this is all coming from Lu, not me, and basically the gist of how I'm interpreting things). At the easiest explanation, it's the kind of track that only Lupe can do, and his talents are at full work in what acts as a promising truth that Atlantic Records isn't meddling with his upcoming album (oh, and of course it "touches" on the issue of priest molestation).
Here's "Lamborghini Angels"; give it a listen, throw up your thoughts. Food & Liquor II drops on September 15.
