Because this is the result of what I assume has been months of new showrunner Josh Schwartz racking his addled brains in order to fix the broken Smash and finally saying "screw it, let's just do Will & Grace all over again," NBC alumni Sean Hayes will be joining the show's highly-anticipated (if only to see it attempt to save itself from a critically panned freshman year) second season. And yes, you are right: Debra Messing is also on the show, and yes, she was on Will & Grace, too. You sure do know your stuff!
In Season 2, Hayes will play new character Terrence Falls, an actor making his Broadway debut in the musical Liaisons, but the far juicier development is that he'll be a real pain in the ass for other characters on the show, including Ivy Lynn (played by Megan Hilty). While we don't know just how much interaction Terrence will have with Julia (Messing's character) , you can bet there will be some. Mostly with the two pausing reality to wink at the camera. Actually, that's all the interaction they'll get, just a bunch of glancing and winking towards the viewer, as if to say, "Hey, remember when NBC was good? Yeah, so do we. But we're back, and this is adorable, right? YEAH!"
