Jeezy's had his fingers in plenty of backend business in the hip-hop industry, and after getting his own Corporate Thugz record label going while maintaining a slot at Def Jam Records, he's now apparently been gifted an executive position over at Atlantic Records, which probably isn't a very good idea.
According to DJ Folk, Greg Street announced last night on V103 that Jeezy would be taking over the Vice President of A&R position over at Atlantic.
Here's what Folk tweeted:
"[C]redit the OG Greg Street for that news,,,,it was announced on V103 In Atl A SEC ago. RT @_Vaun: Young Jeezy is now the Senior VP of A&R over at Atlantic Records. Woah."
So, Jeezy's going to be working some A&R business, which kind of sucks considering he really isn't relevant in terms of quality music anymore. I can't really envision the positives of this, but then again, I don't work for Atlantic Records, which, at least in my opinion, is an excellent thing.
