Gabriel commented on Giancarlo Stanton Monster Homerun Sunday Versus the Cubs:
“Amazing home run. Few players in baseball can hit that ball so hard and far. Can't wait for Stanton to earn freedom from the glorified AAA team Marlins and play for a real MLB club.”
I suppose it was only a matter of time until it came to this, after the Cleveland Indians first started using the mind-numbingly stupid marketing slogan "What If" last year. In the midst of another disappointingly mediocre season -- one in which Indians closer has chastized Cleveland fans, repeately -- the fans have struck back with a viral "What If" campaign of their own.
"What if the Indians weren't so miserly to compete in the worst division in baseball?" asks the "What If" parody creator, comedian Mike Polk Jr. "What if we positioned ourselves to be more than just a farm system for the Yankees and Red Sox?"
The What Ifs could go on and on, but I'd also like to throw this one in there: What if the Indians would finally get rid of the most racist logo in American sports? Or is that asking too much of the poor Clevelanders?
