What would ever possess anyone to want to lift 432 pounds up over their head, anyway? I would only ever do something like that if I was drunk. Maybe that was Matthias Steiner's problem.
The German Olympic weightlifter had a terrifying moment during the men's snatch, when he couldn't quite hoist his 432-pound barbell, and it came crashing down on his head and neck. Doctors and organizers shielded him from the crowd with a barrier as they tended to him, but it didn't take long for Steiner to get up under his own power and wave to the crowd. He was taken away for precautionary x-rays, but, clearly, the incident turned out a lot better than it could have.
Let this be a caution to all of you at home who are thinking about trying to snatch 400+ pounds up over your head for the sport of it.

Ouch. But, since Steiner came out ok, we're allowed to dub this weightlifting fail.
