Timing is everything, people. Just one day after speaking to Tinsel Korey about her very first EP (set to come out on August 30!) the news of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's cheating scandal surfaced. Granted, we would have asked, but Tinsel and the rest of the cast are too nice and private to talk about such gossip. Ugh, guess we can't blame them.
In any case, we got some scoop about Tinsel's thoughts about the Twilight Saga ending come this November, and what it was like to play Emily in the series! Many Twihards will probably be upset when the Breaking Dawn: Part 2 credits begin to scroll, but it will also be exciting to follow the actors careers throughout other projects too. Just like so many already, Tinsel is moving on to other jobs and staying busy with her music career. Read on to see what her plans are for the future and what other passions she enjoys in life.

How does it feel now that the production on the series is wrapped?
TINSEL KOREY: It’s bittersweet. You’re sad that this huge chapter in your life is coming to an end, but you’re excited about the new possibilities that are out there. Like the wolf pack and I are family. I had this moment when I was like, ‘Are we still going to be friends after this is over?’ But I feel like we’re so bonded by it that we will remain family. It’s bittersweet.
Would you be open to doing another film series?
Of course! Absolutely. If they put me on Hunger Games I’d be happy. [Laughs]
What was your favorite book in the Twilight Saga series?
I would probably say New Moon. I’ve heard a lot the Twilight cast from the first movie say that was theirs. I think also because that holds a dear place in your heart because it’s the beginning point of your role in the franchise. So I think New Moon was definitely my favorite book.
What was it like auditioning for the role of Emily? Did you audition opposite any of the werewolves?
No, it’s funny because the other boys apparently had a really long process! I had one audition and that was it. And they shortlisted me for that part and I booked the role. So I had no idea who else was cast when I got this opportunity.
What was it like to play Emily? It was great for young audiences to see how beautiful a character can be even though she's scarred.
Yeah, I mean a lot of people love the Emily character, which actually in the books a lot of people said that they didn’t like Emily because she was kind of like the other woman in a sense. And a lot of people sided with Leah. A lot of fans told me that I brought this sensitivity to the character where they were like, ‘Oh I didn’t even think of that love story part of it and how strong their bond was.' They were focusing on Leah’s turmoil that she was going through. And even when we were filming New Moon I remember playing it different ways and maybe hiding the scar and Chris Weitz was like, 'No she’s really proud of who she is and the fact that she has that doesn’t discourage her and Sam loved her no matter what.' So definitely the filmmakers thought of the beautifulness of that rather than the tragic.
How long did it take in makeup?
The longest it took was eight hours and that was on Eclipse. The shortest amount of time was two hours and that was on Breaking Dawn. We had different makeup teams for each one so each one was trying to figure out what the other one had done. [With] the prosthetics my scar changed over time. Yeah, so it was quite the process.
Now that it's over, are you looking for more comedy like you said?
Yeah! It’s funny because casting directors are like, 'She looks so serious.' But you can tell by the way I am right now that I’m really laid back and I have a lot of comedy in me. My best friend the other day was like, ‘When are you going to be in a sitcom?’ I was like, ‘I’m working on it!’
So, joining a sitcom is on your radar?
Yeah! You know, I’ve done more film in my career and I would love a television series. I would love a sitcom. It’s something more light…I would definitely love to be on a sitcom next.
What's a favorite sitcom of yours?
I love Modern Family. They have a huge cast, but that would definitely be something that would make me happy—if I got on Modern Family.
What are three other passions that fans wouldn't know about you?
I’m actually training in boxing right now. A lot of people like to do yoga and meditate, but I like to do boxing. I find it really therapeutic. So that’s something fans wouldn’t expect that. That is definitely one of my passions. Some people know this, but I also work a lot with kids and promote art education. That was something that’s been really important to me my whole entire life. Working with kids and teaching acting and music and art is something that is a big passion of mine. And the last thing, which I’ve tried to sort of veer away from is cupcakes! I have a little bit of a cupcake addiction and I love them but shouldn’t eat them because I’m doing boxing training. So cupcakes are a little bit of a passion of mine!
