Who knew Vin Scully was such a good lip-reader? Maybe the octogenarian doesn't hear so good anymore and he's picked up a few new techniques.
As Scully was announcing the broadcast of last night's Dodgers-Rockies game, Colorado manager Jim Tracy had a long, entertaining argument with umpire Mike Everitt. After being ejected, Tracy flew off the handle while Scully read Tracy's lips and gave a wonderful PG-Rated translation of the tirade.

Here are some of the translation highlights:
That's fuckin' horseshit! ------Vin Scully -------> That's blinkin' fertilizer.
You've got to be shittin' me! -------Vin Scully-------> You've got to be blinkin' me.
He caught the fuckin' ball!-------Vin Scully-------> The ball. He caught the ball.
No fuckin' way------->Vin Scully-------> No way. No blinkin'way.

After the umpire's conference and Jim Tracy's tirade went on for a full six minutes, Scully wisely remarked: "We have all this (replay) technology and they don't use it because they say it would delay the game. Well, what was that we just saw?"
