I can't hold my tongue on this stuff anymore: this is a f*cking gimmick. Why the hell would one of the most prestigious universities (University of Texas) see it fit to invite Arcade Fire down to give a lecture on "Hope, Haiti, and Service.” Unless I missed something, Arcade Fire don't fall into that bracket of leading socioeconomic scholars and philanthropists. Yes, they've chipped in their own bit to help out in Haiti, but that doesn't qualify them to step into that arena of academia. http://ology.com/music/arcade-fire-lecture-haiti-university-texas/03022012
