Did you ever stop and think that just MAYBE its your fault after all?
There is a fire burning in the United States right now. A fire which seems to be out of control - gun control. It seems as if we either cant get enough of them or want nothing to do with them. Two sides, pick one. Youre with us, or against us. Its the right to property and self-defense vs. the right to life in a safe society and peace of mind. Both sides turn to the government to look for reasoning, guidance and eventually legislation.  The government complies, and laws are drawn up which will supposedly solve the problem. The left screams over violent video games and xenophobic gun nuts while the right hollers over the lack of God in ones life and the collapse of the nuclear family; all of these as potential 'causes' of whatever theyre arguing for or against. At the end of the day, there are more victims than when the day started, and nothing changes. Is so...

This image got to me. This was featured on the 'President Mitt Romney 2012' facebook page, and even though its 2:22 in the morning, I have to say something about this. The caption for this photo is as follows - "Freedom of speech and the freedom to pray to if we so choose. LIKE if you agree that this is still America, land of the free and home of the brave." You have got to be kidding me, dude who runs Mitt Romney's facebook page. What can we take from this? Well for one, no one is trying to take away anyones right to prayer or to bless their food. This is pandering to the always vigilant Christian right, who for some reason feels as if the entire world is trying to take away their right to religion (even as they build giant road side crosses and mega-mansion churches.) Secondly, and probably more importantly, lets really observe this photo...... Seriously.....take a minute to just look at it and soak it all in. They are blessing their FAST food (irony in the religious definition of 'fast' acknowledged)...Not to judge, and really to take their side, this family is taking what is to them a sacred process to the outside for any number of reasons. It could be that they had to because this is the best food they can afford anymore, or because they live out of their car, or they just dont have a decent dining table to do this at, but this really is besides the point. The food they are blessing has as much to do with God as fire has to do with ice. I would imagine if that creator guy came down and looked at an average American fast food meal, he would wretch and probably disassociate himself from whoever invented what his 'children' are blessing. Perhaps it is a good idea to pray before eating fast food though, as none of us really has any clue what the hell we are eating. Perhaps we should pray that its actually food? Regardless, this point needs to be raised - Once again, the Republican party is using the old "A vote for us is a vote for your God" tactic. Its incredibly irresponsible and absolutely unconstitutional in my eyes to use these tactics in order to scare up votes. YES, scare up votes. Why? Well, the whole message of this photo is that Mitt Romney supports your right to pray wherever you want, and Mitt Romney is OPPOSING the incumbent president, a man who many people still believe to be some kind of Muslim, or whatever. So basically, vote for Mitt Romney, or Obama will take your God away. This is the psychology behind presidential campaigns in this era. Ugh.....You know what I pray for? I pray that eventually the constitution will grow arms and legs and beat the crap out of everyone who has trampled over it for decades. The most sacred principle in the entire document - the separation of church and state - made a mockery by this weak attempt at trying to tie Mitt Romney to christian values. What happened, Mitt? Did the conservative base take such a hard hit during the economic downturn that thanksgiving now has to be sponsored by Waffle House? By the way, Waffle House is awesome. Please WH, come to New York.
