August is quickly shaping up to be a great month for Elliott Smith fans. Next Monday (August 6) would have been the Portland singer/songwriter's 43rd birthday and to celebrate, his former indie label Kill Rock Stars are rolling out a whole series of special sales, events, reissues and special releases.

First things first, though… check out a previously unreleased alternate take of Elliott's Either/Or standard "Alameda" below. It's currently available to download for $1 exclusively through Bandcamp.
