Placebo Announce New Album 'Loud Like Love'
Bust out your best eyeliner, gentlemen: Placebo have announced the release of Loud Like Love, their seventh studio album and long-awaited follow-up to 2009's Battle For The Sun and last year's B3 EP. “Duran Duran -- I remember the first night I was truly cognizant of the individual band members. It was the first Friday of December, 1984. My BFF Pam and I suffered the same affliction of not having cable TV and had to get our music video fix via NBC's "Friday Night Videos." I'd seen Duran Duran videos and knew their songs, but just wasn't all that into them. The video for "Do They Know It's Christmas" came on and I was like, "Pam, who is this hot guy with the long blonde hair???" "Oh, that's Simon LeBon. He's the lead singer of Duran Duran." Hmmm... "I guess that guy with the red and black shirt that says 'Duran Duran' on it is in the band, too, huh?" "Yeah, that's John Taylor. Like EVERYONE thinks he's hot." (And I remember thinking, "He's okay, I guess," LOL!) "Hey, Pam! Who's this guy back here? Shoot, I keep missing him! They just barely show him, with the amazing make-up and the gorgeous eyes???" "Oh, that's Nick Rhodes. He's in Duran Duran, too. I think he plays keyboards." Hmmm... The next video up? "Wild Boys" by Duran Duran! Listen Up: Bob Dylan Drops New Song "Early Roman Kings" In 'Strike Back' Trailer

All right, as you probably can interpret from the title, the method here requires some trickery, but if you're willing to endure some B-rate Cinemax promo visuals for Strike Back, you can catch a slice of Bob Dylan's latest bare-blues track "Early Roman Kings" as it rolls in the background.

The asinine explosions and babble of whatever is supposed to be going on in this Strike Back trailer are obvious nuisances for those of us actually attempting to hear the music, but if you're going to cheat the system, you'll have to deal with such matters. Bobby is dropping an official release titled "Scarlet Town" during the show's premiere on August 17, so until then, you'll just have to enjoy what's given. I really don't know why he's attached to it, but whatever.

Bob's umpteenth album Tempest is set to drop on September 11, so kick back until some college kid blogging for a decent news outlet accidentally leaks it onto the Internet.
