Sad news, fellow Muse-onauts (I'm trying it out, seeing if it sticks). As announced earlier this morning, the band's latest studio album The 2nd Law won't be disappointing rocking our socks off quite as soon as promised—the album's street date has been pushed back from September 18 to October 2. So yeah, not the end of the world, but still… crummy.
"Sorry about the delay, we promise it will be worth it," Muse promise in the official announcement. "Also, please don't stop focusing on the fact that one of our songs was sort of semi-inspired by Skrillex! We love that's what everyone's focused on!" Okay, confession time: they didn't say that last bit, I made it up. James Frey tears.
In better Muse news, though, they've announced that the album's second (if you count Olympics anthem "Survival," which I've been so, so, so trying not to) single will be "Madness" and will be released digitally on August 20. Unless, of course, they decide at the last minute to put it out a few weeks later than originally intended. Gotta stay on your toes with this band! Nothing's safe!
Etcetera, etcetera. Here's the album teaser trailer again, once more with feeling…

Chris Rees:
Nothing deep and meaningful, just the fact that this must be the first Muse album I'm worried about. What I mean is, this one could disappoint. I hope I'm wrong.
