The Los Angeles Police Department rushed to the home of Miley Cyrus when they received a report about a possible home invasion recently. According to TMZ though, it turns out the call was false and part of a new trend of pranking called "swatting!"
The call was received a little before 7 p.m. stating that there was a home invasion and possible shots fired. Armed police officers, as well as a helicopter, were sent to Cyrus’ home. After a few minutes, officials realized the house was empty and no crime was being committed.

The call has been determined to be associated with this new kind of prank. A caller tricks 911 respondents into bringing police officers to someone’s home by reporting a serious crime. In this case, the caller chose a celebrity to be their next victim.
Whoever the caller is will be facing criminal charges and could even face felony charges if someone was hurt in the process.
Good thing Miley wasn’t home during this incident, she probably would have been a little confused!
