Two doubles teams from South Korea, one from China and one from Indonesia were bounced from the games after they deliberately tried to lose in order to benefit their tournament draw.
The Badminton World Federation has been praised by the IOC for their decision to disqualify these teams.
"We applaud the federation for having taken swift and decisive action," said IOC spokesman Mark Adams. "Such behavior is incompatible with the Olympic values."
The players were rightfully booed out of the arena, which shows just how blatant their "tank-job" really was.
