Teen Mom

Teen Mom is an American reality television series that premiered on MTV on December 8, 2009. The series is a spin-off of 16 and Pregnant, and chronicles the lives of four of the original teenagers from that series as they navigate their first year of motherhood.[1] In addition to teenage motherhood, the series focuses on themes of changing relationships, specifically, those of the family, friends, couples and school. It shows the struggles teenagers have to go through to raise their children.

“I think she will eventually get herself together but right now she doesn't have to, technically,cause her mom has her son. So she doesn't have to worry about having him with her to see what she is doing, which could be a good or bad thing. If her son was there she may pull herself together faster cause she MIGHT have him in her mind when she is about to do something stupid, however she could just not think of him at all whether he is in her presence or not and end up scarring him more than she already has.”

Tonight's Teen Mom started off with Farrah taking her daughter Sophia to ride a horse. Sophia and her mommy both enjoyed being cowgirls! Farrah later dropped her daughter off to a new babysitter and headed off to her first day at school -- but not before her mama called to wish her good luck. Farrah later struggled to get ready with Sophia who was running around getting into everything. Once they get to their date, Daniel and Sophia totally hit it off and they look like one big, happy family in the making -- they even Skyped with Debra after the date.

Maci learned that her landlord sold their condo, so she and Kyle had to move out. Luckily, Maci's friend Erica's mom is a realtor so Kyle gave her a ring and they later went to see a house. However, the house was way too big and out of their price range so they slowed things down a bit. They later went to see a much smaller house and fell in love with it -- they put an offer in on the spot.

Amber stressed about everything from Gary to her schoolwork. She wants to see her daughter, but the timing never seems to be right and Gary and Leah have adjusted to life without her. When Gary finally does drop her off, Amber tries to start a fight with Gary right in front of Leah -- Amber even tells Gary that he's a "piece of crap."

Tyler got a call from Catelynn's mom letting him know that his dad Butch had gotten drunk and attacked her and is now incarcerated. April later goes to visit Cate and details Butch's attack -- head holes in the wall and all! When Tyler sees her, he realizes just how bad things were and it hit him hard. After Tyler showed April a text message saying that he loved cocaine more than he loved Ty, April began to understand what she was dealing with.

Sumology: Tonight's episode was heavy with Tyler's dad's abuse of Catelynn's mom. It was so sad to see Tyler hurting.

Grade: A-
