I (still) want to write for Ology

Jeremy Cornelius
Riot Robin
I will be moving to Philadelphia this September and am now seeking out an exciting writing position for a publication focusing on pop and geek culture, so Ology is ideal for that! As a graduate from Beloit College in women's and gender studies and creative writing, I am invested in combining feminist perspectives and analysis in writing projects and unpacking gender, class, race, and sexuality in pop and geek culture. I wrote my honors thesis entitled "Graphic Grrrl: Whiteness, Postfeminism, and Power" during my senior year in women's and gender studies. In my thesis, I analyze the film Scream 4 and the slasher genre, the graphic novel Diary of a Teenage Girl by Phoebe Gloeckner, and representations of "girl power" in the media. Otherwise, I spend my time reading graphic novels and queer feminist literature. Currently, I'm in the middle of reading Kate Bornstein's new memoir A Queer and Pleasant Danger, The Promise of Happiness by Sara Ahmed, and the graphic novel Superman: Red Sun by Mark Millar. For now, I'll continue to fill my Ology with Batman news, Amanda Palmer videos, and nostalgic lists to garner more followers.
