Pawn Stars has become a huge hit in our household. My six-year-old is constantly asking to go to pawnshop.com to check out more about the show and its stars. Most people choose The Old Man as their favorite on the show, but mine is definitely Chumlee. Who doesn't love a guy who got his nickname from Tennessee Tuxedo's sidekick? (whoever that is)
Chumlee is constantly in trouble for doing hilarious stunts like busting the priceless vase by hitting it with a sword. And he never ceases to amaze us with his timely invasions into the camera time of one of his coworkers.
The best part of Chumlee is that he always takes one for the team with style and grace. In several episodes Rick has purchased firearms that have to be tested before he can sell them at the shop. So who does he recruit to shoot the firearms? Chumlee of course! Which brings me to my point.
Everyone has had a moment in their life when they were Chumlee and mine is memorable. I was about five or six years old and it was winter and there was snow on the ground. My siblings and I (I am the youngest of three) got dressed in our snow clothes so we could go play on the frozen creek behind our house. (I still can't believe my mother let us go by ourselves! What was she thinking?!)
Well, it was early in the winter season and my older brother was not sure if the creek had frozen enough for us to play on it. So what does he do? He has me walk out onto it to see if it will hold me. Since I was the youngest and weighed the least if it broke while I was on it then it surely would not hold him or my sister.
So, being the awesome baby sister that I am, I walked out onto the ice and I bet you can predict what happens! Yes, I fell through the ice (Which is why I can't believe my mother let us go alone!)
I remember my sister pulling me out and how cold it was, it was after all almost frozen water! I can't remember what my mother's reaction was, but she must not have thought it was a big deal because she let us go back. I think back now and its funny. Back then, not so much!
