Teen Wolf handles adolescence, relationships, and certain hairy situations on a weekly basis, but it's new character Matt who was just revealed to have all the control as the brains behind the vicious Kanima. We were just as shocked as you: we had no idea when trekking to Atlanta that this guy would wind up being the season's biggest villain (at least, for now), but turns out he's up for that and plenty of other challenges. So just how dangerous is Stephen Lunsford? Ology finds out By Terron R. Moore
OLOGY: So what's it like being a part of the Teen Wolf phenomenon?
STEPHEN LUNSFORD: Well, it’s hilarious, because when I first saw posters and ads for it when it was the first season, I just thought it was a joke—I was like, "this has nothing to do with Michael J. Fox’s movie!" But then I saw some episodes and it was really good! So now I’m really happy to be a part of it. But it’s great. The other actors have been totally accommodating. Except for Colton [Haynes], who’s a complete dick. [Laughs] No, he’s great, he’s great.
What's it been like working together?
We’ve actually competed multiple times for things, including The Gates, when it was down between the two of us. And he ended up getting it, so of course there’s a little animosity there. I kind of want to punch him sometimes, but it’s cool, it’s cool. I’m not really going to do that. I might get fired.
Are Colton and Matt friends? Enemies? (Controller and puppet?)
It’s to be seen. You know, it started off where he needed my help and then we kind of formed some type of relationship. There is that certain amount of animosity between the two of us, but it kind of goes up and down.
What have you enjoyed bringing to the season so far?
Bringing the drama. 'Cause that’s the whole reason for my character, just to create drama! I swear to God- but it's hilarious. It’s interesting, because I started by playing the detective type, so I like that aspect. I love detectives in novels, movies, anything like that. So I’m kind of glad I’m trying to channel my inner Blade Runner.
For the fangirls: what does Stephen Lunsford look for in a girl?
Well firstly, hello ladies. It’s nice to meet you. I like long walks on the beach and Star Wars! [Laughs] No, for ladies, I want them to be as adventurous as I am and independent. I like independence and drive, those are sexy qualities. I just love that. I typically like girls with brown hair and brown eyes and anyone who is athletic… so just give me a call or hit up my Twitter. [Laughs] That’s all I’ll say!
What's your Ology?
Well, I direct, I write, and I do a bunch of short films with my friends and put them on YouTube. So I guess it could be YouTubeOlogy or FilmOlogy. But if it has nothing to do with Hollywood or the entertainment industry, I’d say TravelOlogy. I love to travel. It’s my favorite thing in the world to do. And I love it when I have friends who are like, "aw, I gotta fly to Canada or Tokyo to promote this film." I’m like, "that’s awesome! Put me on the flight with you! That’s amazing!"
Well, Tyler and Crystal told us how they go to visit Brazil and Argentina for the show…
Oh, that sucks! That’s terrible! Awful life! But I love travel, I love adventure. I love just trying to be as much like Indiana Jones as possible.
Well... you'll probably get your chance. I don't know if you've heard this, but Teen Wolf is kind of a big deal…
It is kind of a big deal. It’s true, it’s true. [Laughs]
Teen Wolf is new Monday nights at 10pm on MTV.
