The Wallflowers Feat. Mick Jones
"Reboot The Mission"
Best New Song In The World Of The Day
There are two groups of people bound to be extremely excited about "Reboot The Mission," the first taste of The Wallflowers' Glad All Over (out October 2). Obviously, old school Jakob Dylan fans (they're out there, I promise) are beyond thrilled to hear the first new Wallflowers album since 2005's Rebel, Sweetheart. And then, well, there's us embittered The Clash fans who'll listen to Mick Jones cameo on pretty much anything and will be freaking the eff out, shouting, "Holy shit, this sounds like Combat Rock-era Clash, you guys!"

"It made sense to us to ask the mighty Mick Jones to partake," explains Dylan, whose low vocal swagger positively kills over the song's dubby punk shuffle. "[We want to be] a rock band that could make a dance track too, without crossing over to the extreme side." Hearing Jones's guitar and vocals over this sort of track again gave me actual chills, no lie. Seriously, I'm in something of a humbled stupor—never expected a Wallflowers single (new or otherwise) to get me this excited. Somewhere Joe Strummer is lighting a cigarette and nodding to himself in approval.
