Procrastination gets a bad rap. Obviously not everyone can be the early bird. And we all know the second mouse gets the cheese. (If you don't know that quote, Google it, it is worth it.)
So following are some semi-quasi-sorta kinda but not really true Epic moments in History, when procrastination paid off. Feel free to add yours:
1. The Royal French Baker decided that whipping up a new dessert was just too time-consuming, so the people could eat 7 day old birthday cake. Marie Antoinette gave her stamp of approval.
2. When he met the "Indians" in his newly discovered world, Christopher Columbus could have pressed on and tried to find the actual country he was looking for.... but decided, "Eh, this is good right here."
3. In an era when people thought the earth was flat, and the stars in the sky could be seen during the day, Galileo decided he'd just wait until nighttime to figure out the truth.
4. The inventor of the Hershey chocolate bar misplaced his tickets and couldn't board the huge ship he was taking back to America. He told his wife, "Well, we can always catch the Titanic on it's return trip."
