With all of the Tom/Katie drama that’s been going on this summer, it’s hard to believe that Katie and Suri are living a relatively low-key life in New York City. Even though the paparazzi follow them absolutely everywhere, the mother-daughter duo has been keeping busy in the city doing normal activities despite the constant attention. Because we are such skilled stalkers, here are some of the things Suri and her mom (and BFF) have been up to these days without Tom.
School Time: Suri was enrolled in private school! It was confirmed over the weekend that Suri would be attending the prestigious Convent of the Sacred Heart school on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, after years of private tutoring at home. The famous celeb offspring, 6, will join the ranks of alums like Lady Gaga, Carolyn Kennedy and Paris Hilton. Hopefully the paparazzi will just leave her alone come the fall.
Summer Art and Gymnastics Classes: Katie has been photographed picking Suri up from summer classes at the Children’s Museum of the Arts in New York City multiple times this month. Since beginning these afternoon classes, Suri seems to have made quite a few new friends too: the tot was photographed shopping in Whole Foods with a friend and the friend's mother. Is this the first time she hasn’t been out with Katie and seen with normal humans?! In addition, Suri took a gymnastics class at Chelsea Piers July 16, before she and her mother’s car was side swiped by a garbage can on west 33rd street. It was a minor accident, but still made major headlines.
New Pet? Suri was spotted at a Manhattan pet shop with her mother on July 14, but came out empty handed. The little fashionista, whose parent’s reached an amicable divorce settlement last week, was seen pouting and frowning in the shop after being denied a dog. Even though she didn’t get what she wanted this time, we’re sure Suri has more than enough toys and treats to keep her busy at home.
Zoo Creatures: Even though she didn’t get to bring home a new animal, Suri hit up the Central Park Zoo with her mom grandmother last week. The 6-year-old was spotted feeding the goats with kids her age and admiring the seals and polar bears. Even though Suri seemed to get along well with the other kids, it’s hard to not stick out when nearly one hundred paparazzi are standing close by snapping your photo! TMZ posted a video of Suri giggling and pointing at the animals, her trusty blanket in hand as expected.
BREAKING Reunion With Dad: According to Us Weekly, the Rock of Ages star, 50, has flown from California to New York overnight to visit his daughter after being apart for a few weeks. This is the first time Tom has seen his daughter since Katie filed papers and the settlement was reached. Cruise has been busy filming the drama Oblivion in Iceland, but now he finally has time to see his baby girl after weeks of Skype and phone calls. We’re sure Suri is a happy camper. It’s time for her to get spoiled some more.
Overall, it seems like Suri and Katie are on the quest for normalcy, which must be hard to do with everything going on in their lives! Hopefully Suri enjoys her reunion with dad, and Tom and Katie couple can maintain a healthy relationship for their little girl.
