It’s really over. E! News confirmed the sad news today, just seven months after the "Wide Awake" singer filed for divorce on Dec. 30. Although they seemed quite in love during public appearances, Katy and Russell were only married for 14 months after wedding in India October of 2010.
In Perry’s new documentary, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, the singer admitted: "Being in love is a dream, but the reality is not like the movies. There’s a lot more compromise and sacrifice." Although their very public divorce has been all over the media and heavily covered in the documentary, Katy and Russell have been private about their personal lives since the marriage fell apart last year. As of now, they are both single.

Although the reason has not been confirmed or commented on by either Russell or Katy, sources close to the couple said that the distance and different life plans ultimately ruined the relationship. She was constantly traveling on tour and Russell would have to fly all over to see his wife. Katy was also not ready for a child and Russell reportedly wanted a baby immediately after marrying.
Now that the divorce is official, it has finally set in. This is sad news for both Katy and Russell, but hopefully they can move on and maintain a healthy friendship with one another.
