If The Weeknd’s music has given me anything, it’s fulfillment in my life as a homebody who passes out after two glasses of wine in front of a Twilight Zone marathon on SyFy. His mixtape trilogy also boasts some of the tightest production and seductive genre-bending melodies I’ve ever heard, so when R&B’s resident Debbie Downer tweets a cryptic message alluding to a new project, I’m going to blow it out of proportion. Here’s what he tweeted this morning: “the path to complete insanity has begun once again, another body of work...”

Okay, The Weeknd is not the most lucid tweeter, as he prefers to usually either quote his own lyrics or use Twitter as a platform for some potential one-liners. But fans and music sites alike are jumping on what looks like a promise for a new album. I’m crossing my fingers on this one, but let’s just hope no one tries to cuddle him or instill a feeling of self-worth in the meantime. No one’s here for that.
