“Duran Duran. They've done New Romantic to funk to house, done them well, and combined them in interesting ways.”

Nell commented on Ology's Battle Of The Fans: '80s Semi-Finals (Duran Duran Vs. Depeche Mode):
“Duran Duran. I'm a fan of both, and have seen both perform, but it was hearing The Chauffeur live that really showed me how much a piece of music can do emotionally even when the lyrics are somewhat abstract.”
There's been nothing normal, run-of-the-mill or ordinary about Jack White's promotional campaign behind Blunderbuss, his "seems to get better and better with each listen" debut solo album (check out our review below). Helium balloons, Gary Oldman-directed webcasts, The Colbert Report… Radiohead? Give him credit, there's nothing the man won't try… including starring in what looks like a pretty awesome bit of slice-and-grind, post-Tarantino business directed by hip-hop video auteur Hype Williams.
The video for blue balloon single "Freedom At 21" (a.k.a. already my new favorite thing in the world) drops Monday, July 16. In the meantime, though, check out a pretty bitchin' 30-second teaser trailer below.
Yes, Jack White drives a bright neon green muscle car… in Mickey Mouse gloves, no less. Yes, there's some sort of she demon crawling around on the hood… which I'm told is illegal in most states, but who could blame her, right? Yes, White gets arrest by a Hot Cop and thrown in the slammer… ideally the same penitentiary from Lady Gaga's "Telephone," fingers crossed. Verdict? It's already kind of my favorite in the whole world thing since Pepsi Blue. Between this and Green Day's new single, I don't think anyone's going to be hearing a whole lot from me this Monday. Please, hold your applause.
What do you guys think of the delicious fruit-flavored sugary goodness of Jack White and Hype Williams, together at long last? Hit up our comments section below.
