Summer has officially begun! Big Brother season 14 is finally here! Head of Households, Back Doors, P.O.V. Competitions, throwing people on the block, allies, that delicious slop and eviction nights! Julie Chen, how we've missed you and that fab face glitter you sparkle with! Expect the unexpected folks, because this season's twist brings back four alumni to play the game. But instead of playing the game with the rest of the newbies, they will be coaches. They'll pick teams, live in the house and have the opportunity to win big: the coach of the winning houseguest will pocket $100,000 while the one who's standing after the final four will take home $500,000.

The reveal of the coaches were spoiled Wednesday, but that didn't take away from their big entrances into the household! Season 10 winner Dan, legendary (yes, legendary) Season 6 and All-Stars competitor Janelle, Brittany from Season 12 and one-half of Chilltown, Will Boogie, make their way to the newbies. In other words, let the games commence!
It's hard not to judge the houseguests before they even place their bags on their beds, but luckily it looks like a memorable and cutthroat summer is on the way. First impressions and game tactics start immediately as the cast introduce with champagne. Kara wants to meet a nice guy, Wil (with one L) turns out to be hilarious, Shane's a cutie with a second glance over, Ashley's liking on Ian, Danielle lies that she's an elementary teacher instead of nurse and sorry Willie, but everyone is already calling out the fact that you could be related to Survivor's aggressive past contestant Russell. He is his brother, but of course he won't be pointing that out. Doesn't mean Janelle and Boogie will want you on their team though. As for Ian, well, he's adorable and extremely smart. He was the only one to realize the key change when they got invited on the show too. The contestants only got cards. Why? Because someone isn't (gasp!) staying. It's only the first day, but someone will be cut loose.
Teams
Dan- Cara, Danielle, Jodi
Brittany- Shane, Willie, JoJo
Boogie- Frank, Ian, Jen
Janelle- Wil, Ashley, Joe
From the start it looks like Boogie snagged the best team, followed by Brittany, Janelle and Dan.
As fanatics know, the competitions are the best part. The first is basically a teddy bear race. The contestants have to jump on huge floaters and make their way to a huge bed with stuffed bears. Whichever team has three back at their starting point with the nightlight shut off first wins. The coach of the winning team chooses which member will become the very first HOH of the season. The catch? The coach of the losing team will have to send a member home.
"Its like World War 4 up in this place. People are flying like flapjacks!"– Wil
As it turns out, Brittany's team wins with Dan coming in last. (Not a shocker.) Janelle lands in second with Boogie following in third.
Brittany, being the smart cookie that she is (despite getting a beat down from Lane and the Brigade last time), makes Willie HOH. He's already a threat and she thinks it'll be great for him to make some early deals. (You see? Smart cookie.)
And who goes home? Dan kicks out Jodi! Not surprising, being that she seemed like the ultimate floater, but oh hey, THIS IS BIG BROTHER. If anything, that send home will probably be the least unexpected moment of the whole season.
CBS, we thank you in advance.
And for you BB fans, stay tuned all season for a recap once a week from yours truly and Sharon Tharp!
SumOlogy: Sorry friends, I won't be available every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday for the rest of the summer.
