Well, looks like nothing has changed in Rosewood: police cars and an ambulance rush down the street, and someone gets taken off on a gurney. And that someone – is Garrett’s mother. When Aria sees a hooded figure lurking in the shadows, Spencer uses her brilliant mind and thinks that maybe ‘A’ has something to do with Garrett's ailing mother. Since his mother is sick, Garrett may be released from jail so he can see her, and of course, the hospital is the perfect place for he and ‘A’ to converse about murder.
Hanna’s so depressed over her breakup with Caleb that she’s lost her sense of fashion, and she has the best closet on the show. As punishment for skipping school, Ashley Marin forces Hanna to work a church rummage sale, where she stumbles upon Emily’s gray jacket she was wearing ‘that night.’ How in the heck did that jacket make its way to the rummage sale?

Meanwhile, Sherlock Hastings is staked out at the hospital, watching Garrett’s every move… until Detective Wilden shows up with his snide remarks. No one cares, Wilden. No one cares. However, considering he does have the power to eventually charge the Liars with something, Spencer decides to abort the mission.
For a quick second, let’s focus on a really important matter in this episode: PAIGE IS BACK! And she and Emily have tickets to see the new Katy Perry movie. However, their “date” is postponed when Emily finds out that she has to work Jenna’s birthday party. Oh, and Jenna totally isn’t hiding the fact that she can see, or the fact that she has the hots for Nate. Anyway, let’s get back to Paige. From the looks of it, she’s still really into Emily, and she’s confused about why Emily isn’t paying her much attention at the party. So like everyone else on the show, Paige resorts to drinking, and she happens to have the flask Emily was using ‘that night.’ Paige is totally white-girl wasted, and she takes a nasty fall, which lands her in the hospital – the same hospital where Garrett is visiting his mother. Nate tries to start a brawl with the person he thinks killed Maya, and Spencer uses this as a distraction to find out what Garrett really had to say on the note attached to the flowers for his mother. (She’s in a coma, so she’s not doing too much reading right now.) The note is actually genuine, but under Garrett’s mother’s hospital bracelet is a piece of paper that reads, “April Rose has the proof.”
However, it’s Aria who discovers the most shocking news of the night! She ditches Ezra at Jenna’s party to investigate Lucas’s possible involvement ‘that night.’ He totally could have taken the graveyard pictures. Lucas has been using a studio and stealing supplies for his own prints, and the owner (who Aria happened to work with over the summer) is keeping his camera bag hostage until he pays her what he owes. Aria intentionally ruins the photographer’s memory cards she’s using at the party so she can offer to go to the studio and get more. She finds Lucas’s camera bag, and in his film capsules, Aria finds sleeping pills – and it is no coincidence that the doctors find traces of the same medicine in Paige’s system that same night. So ‘that night,’ Emily was drugged with sleeping pills that have a side effect of memory loss.
And 'A' recovers a medicine bottle issued to Maya St. Germain. Could the bottle contain the same sleeping pills?
SumOlogy: Lucas may have been involved ‘that night,’ and Garrett may be…innocent?
Grade: B+
Leftovers:
“She’s been gliding around school all day like a Thanksgiving float.” –Spencer
“I feel a lot safer when I’m in charge of what happens to me” –Jenna
Not-so-blind Jenna is a little creepy, but her newfound confidence is unparalleled.
“Every time you ‘baby squirrel’ Ezra, you’re taking away his nuts” –Spencer
It looks like the Rosewood moms are finally getting some action on the show: Ashley Marin meets a new friend, Ted, at the church rummage sale. Hallelujah!
Hmm…where did Ezra get the money to buy Aria that expensive vintage camera?
We can celebrate that Ezra got a job! And it’s not in Louisiana!
