The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday that Katie used a disposable cell phone to speak to her lawyers before filing, but that's not all she did. In between those Whole Foods runs with daughter Suri, she also made contact with Kidman several times.
"She has been a private friend not many people know about," a source tells Us Weekly. "Nicole offered her support and help."
The friendship shouldn't be too shocking though. The two have been friends since 2006 when Katie first married the Mission Impossible star. Though minimal, she still has some contact with the kids Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17, that she shares with Tom.
Sweet, sweet revenge. Nicole hasn't spoken much about her relationship with Tom since splitting in 2001, but it was definitely a messy one. How can one be so sure? "Nicole has been supportive, saying she's been through it too and to hang in there," the source adds.
