Just as I'm starting to get a little bit nervous about attending my first San Diego Comic Con, I get this news. Unfortunately, a TwiHard fan who was already lining up for the Thursday morning panel (I repeat, ALREADY lining up for a THURSDAY panel) was struck by a car and died from her injuries.
The fan, known only as G, was lined up with fellow Twilight fans even though the SDCC organizers requested that fans wait to que until Wednesday night. This was to no avail as the die hard fans care not what organizers request. They're going to see Robert Pattinson if it's the last thing they do.
Wait, maybe that was a poor choice of words.
G, confirmed by the police as a 53 year old fan, was running across the street when she was struck by a car. She was taken to the hospital where she eventually died.
This is a super sad story that reminds us that even though fandom is wonderful, you need to put safety first. Thoughts and prayers are with G and Twilight fans everywhere during this time.
