As promised, iconic singer/songwriter and indispensable late night television guest Tom Waits stopped by The Late Show with David Letterman last night to promote his latest album, last year's Bad As Me. Better late than never, right? In the same way you never really know when Tom will decide to hit the road and promote a new album, you never really know what he might feel like talking about or bring with him, and last night's Letterman stop was no exception.
If you'll direct your attention to the following YouTube videos, you'll note that Mr. Waits not only performed the Bad As Me highlight "Chicago," he also took a few minutes to show off his vintage 19th century rat trap, complete with drowning holes. Incidentally, The Drowning Holes was the name of my first band. We were a kind of goth-grunge-jazz experiment from hell sort of thing; didn't last very long; creative differences. Anyways, check out Tom Waits's complete Letterman appearance below.
