Like a bunch of shambling, decaying corpses shuffling to their TV sets, viewers tuned into Talking Dead, AMC’s recap show for The Walking Dead, and were rewarded with a very brief clip of fan-favorite character Michonne, a stoic bad-ass whose favorite method of zombie-dispatching is disembowelment (and a little decapitation) by way of samurai sword. Of course, fans of the comics will know that Michonne character kicks-off of the prison arc in the comic book, an incredibly bleak (as if a show about a post-apocalyptic world couldn’t be any bleaker) story-arc that introduces The Governor, a villain from the comics that is responsible for some of the series’ most memorable and vile moments in its’ history.
Considering that even by the end of the first season, The Walking Dead proved to be a completely different (and somewhat tamer) beast than its comic-counterpart; however, if the show even captures an ounce of what made that prison arc thrilling, then fans may be in store for some grade-A television.
