Was that YOU asking SportsOlogy for another reason to hate Kris Humphries? It must have been, because in the midst of the myriad Dwight Howard trade rumors that have flooded the internet since, like, December 2011, Kris Humphries has emerged as one of the most important pieces to the trade puzzle that could finally send Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets.

Here's the deal: Dwight Howard really really wants to get the fuck out of Orlando, in case you haven't heard, and the Nets are pretty much the only team he'll play for. But thanks to a brand new deal for Deron Williams and a trade for "Shoeless" Joe Johnson, the Nets need some help if they hope to put a trade package together that will appear not to fuck over the Magic too badly. That's where the Cavs come in.
The Cavs have a decent amount of cap and personnel maneuverability because their players aren't very good. If they're going to do the Nets a favor, they'll want a few pieces in return, and the two names bandied about the most in this regard are Kris Humphries (né Kardashian?) and Marshon Brooks. The problem is that Orlando doesn't want Humphries or Brooks (shock!), so Cleveland would have to take them on in some sort of twisted Frankenstein of a deal that would eventually send Howard to Brooklyn.
Brooks just went 0-10 with four turnovers in a summer league game, which is bad news for the Nets. Apparently, though, Humphries is demanding a deal beyond one year, which is the real reason the proposed rumor of a trade can't go through. As always, Humphries is grossly overestimating his worth.
Of course, these are just rumors, whispers on the internet, culled from various sources and a hodgepodge of Twitter accounts, rumors desperately strung together by writers and reporters who will be without much material come late-July. Still, it's more than reasonable to assume that Kris Humphries is fucking this whole thing up. That's our story, and we're sticking to it.
