You know this was going to happen as soon as Kate Upton was spotted at Detroit's Comerica Park wearing a Tigers hat on Friday night. We've got rumors - glorious rumors! - that Upton is hooking up with Justin Verlander, the Tigers pitcher who won the American League MVP and Cy Young award last season.
| UPDATE: Photos & Eye Witness Confirm Verlander + Upton |
Upton and Verlander appeared in a commercial together for the MLB 2012 video game earlier this year, and reportedly were spotted together this weekend in Detroit. And of course, Verlander is one of the top athletes in the world, and Kate Upton is pretty much the sexiest woman on earth right now... so why not?
Velander has (had?) a long-time girlfriend, Emily Yuen, a lovely girl who Verlander's been with since he was in college at Old Dominion, but the couple always kept a relatively low-profile so it's impossible to say if she's still in the picture or not. If she is (or even if she isn't), having her man tied to the Prettiest Girl Of All Time must be fairly distressing.
Upton attended the Tigers game on Friday night with her BFF Lizzy Glynn, and Frank Viola, Jr. - the son of the former big league pitcher, and one of Verlander's best friends. And according the Twitter research done by Busted Coverage, the four were also linked together at an Aerosmith concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills, north of Detroit, on July 5th.
After the concert, Viola and Glynn, at the least, were known to have stopped by a local bar that featured a mechanical bull, where Viola chivalrously took off his pants so Glynn could ride the bull. We don't know whether Verlander and Upton were there, and if they weren't, where they made it off too.

Of course, it could all be smoke with no fire. Upton was born in Michigan and still has family there. But how often have you smelled smoke with no fire?
What do you think, Justin Verlander + Kate Upton = LOVE?
