Less than two weeks after filing for divorce, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have reached a divorce settlement, Holmes's attorney Jonathan Wolfe confirmed to PEOPLE. "The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed," Wolfe told the mag. "We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life... We thank Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution."
Although details of the settlement are still unknown, it's pretty obvious that the former couple was primarily focused on protecting their six-year-old daughter, Suri.

Before reaching the settlement, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes released a joint statement earlier in the day, asking the media to give them privacy and respect during this very difficult time.
"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests," the statement read. "We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents."
It must be difficult for Tom and Katie to have everyone know so much about private family matters, especially when a young child is involved. It's hard to believe that the two have already reached a settlement and are moving on so quickly. Things must have been really bad.
