“I'm honestly baffled. If Avengers got a nod for effects, DRK could have at least gotten a nomination for a lesser category like sound, score, or supporting actor.
This has to be motivated by some insider intrigue, there's no other explanation.”
I can't believe that after waiting for what seems like a million years, The Dark Knight Rises is finally upon us, opening a little under two weeks from now. I've bought my tickets. I've replaced basically every background of my computer, twitter and cover photo with Dark Knight Rises stuff. If you've been following FilmOlogy (just click "follow," duh) you know that this is a big deal for me, so much so that I might just quit my job after the 20th because I won't have anything else to talk about.
Anyhoo, here's a 13 minute video that is slightly spoiler-y but both Christopher Nolan and Wally Pfister walk about the film and that's enough for me. I'm getting such a Bane boner, you guys.
I like this featurette because it's also pretty informative about how big the scope of this film is. It can be argued that the time, budget, pre/post production has been one of the most involved and comprehensive efforts in film. Everything is big about this movie. The muscles, the action and even Bane's muscles. I guess what I'm trying to say is that The Dark Knight Rises is probably the Citizen Kane of action/superhero movies.
