Gabriel commented on Giancarlo Stanton Monster Homerun Sunday Versus the Cubs:
“Amazing home run. Few players in baseball can hit that ball so hard and far. Can't wait for Stanton to earn freedom from the glorified AAA team Marlins and play for a real MLB club.”
You might sometimes forget that the liberal stronghold of New England harbors an awful lot of racists. But that's why we at SportsOlogy are here: to remind you.
Injured Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford has drawn the ire of Red Sox fans for underperforming and spending too much time on the disabled list since signing a big contract with the Sawx. And since Crawford is black, that ire is bound to find its way into the mouths of some racist jackass, as it did this week while Crawford played on his rehab in Manchester, N.H.
Asked after the game about some of the treatment he'd received from local fans, Crawford said one dude stuck out.
"(One fan) actually called me a racial slur to begin the game with," Crawford told reporters. "He was the only one I had a problem with. People in Boston don't even do that."
