With all the wheeling and dealing going on this offseason, it can be tough to remember where all your favorite and least favorite players will be living in November. Every day something big happens, we'll give you a rundown of the NBA's most recent offseason wheelings and dealing. It's the NBA Circus.
DEALS!
The Toronto Raptors have inexplicably offered New York Knicks restricted free agent a 3-year, $20 million deal that the Knicks will almost certainly refuse to match. The deal is pretty much universally despised, though it's seen as a way to lure Steve Nash to Toronto and prevent New York from making a push for him. Really? [ESPN]
Jason Terry is heading to Boston after agreeing to a three-year deal. Somehow this makes both the Celtics (still super-old!) and the Mavericks (losing everyone!) worse. [Boston.com]
Reggie Evans, supposedly the NBA's dirtiest player, is heading to Brooklyn to play for the Nets after he was the victim -- I mean, subject -- of a sign-and-trade deal that gives Evans a 3-year, $5 million contract. The Nets sent a protected second-round pick the other way and used their $3 million trade exception on Evans. He'll join Joe Johnson and probably not Deron Williams/Dwight Howard on what should be a half-watchable Nets team. [Yahoo! Sports]
RUMORS!
These NBA rumors are all over the internet. All you have to do is look. Are they made up? Maybe. Some of them. Or all of them. Or none of them? YOU can decide.
Ray Allen might verbally agree to join the Miami Heat... soon. Very soon.
Brandon Roy, who's trying to make a comeback from early retirement, is meeting with teams and COULD sign with Golden State or Minnesota. The only place he definitely for sure won't sign: Portland.
Goran Dragic looks to be on his way out of Houston after playing above his pay grade. The Suns apparently might want him back?
Steve Nash is going... somewhere? Toronto may have already offered him a deal, but in spite of the money it's difficult to imagine Nash on a team with no shot of winning a championship.
Michael Beasley is still alive and will be playing somewhere other than Minnesota next year. From what I can gather, it could be anywhere.
Dwight Howard. Always Dwight Howard. Something's happening. But those get their own posts.
That's the basic news of the day. We'll keep you updated on any and all rumors as events warrant.
