Despite Aaron Sorkin’s new television drama The Newsroom hitting a rough patch with the critics in its first season (even though Terron R. Moore likes it, sort of, and sort of thinks you should probably watch it, you know, if you've got the time), HBO has just announced that the show has been picked up for a second season, proving yet again that no one really cares what critics think. The Newsroom might not have been all that loved by reviewers, but 2.1 million viewers tuned into the series premiere, making it HBO’s third highest-rated series premiere since 2008.
Oh, and Southern Twi… I mean, True Blood was also renewed by HBO for a sixth season, because that’s still a thing, I guess—though I would love for some kind of twisted, spin-off featuring Christopher Meloni’s character as a police detective partnered with some bright eyed, city-slick vamp as they take on sex-crimes and other filth within the vampire world. So basically, I just want Law and Order: SVU but with vampires. MAKE IT HAPPEN, HBO!!!
