Gabriel commented on Poll: What's Your Early Pick For Album Of The Year?:
“I haven't gotten too into any album released so far this year, but I am planning on taking some time to listen to Indicud this weekend. I am however quite excited for both Daft Punk and Wu-Tang Clan.”
As promised, formerly reclusive R&B genius D'Angelo returned to television after a 12-year hiatus during last night's 2012 BET Awards, performing a medley of his Voodoo classic "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" and new jam "Sugar Daddy" (see below). I can't even begin to speculate exactly how many female audience members were instantly impregnated by his mere presence (I'm looking at you, Nicki Minaj) (…who am I kidding, I'm always looking at you, Nicki Minaj), but I hope that every new mother decides to name their child "Untitled" in commemoration of the night's momentous performance.

I shouldn't have to point out exactly how groin-tinglingly amazing he and the band sound. Common and Beyoncé were obviously digging it… Kanye West couldn't even sit still, he was so blown away… and Nicki, well, I don't know, she just looked a little confused. Or uncomfortable. Maybe a little bit of both. Personally, I like to think she was just reacting to the mighty kicks of the little D'Angelo baby slow-jamming around inside of her. I suppose we'll find out soon enough, right?
The 2012 BET Awards ceremony also featured performances from the likes of Kanye and G.O.O.D. Music, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown and a star-studded tribute to Whitney Houston. Check them all out… plus a list of all the evening's award-winners… right here. (Thanks, Stereogum!)
