Fashion is all about taking risks and having fun with your look and Project Runway season eight finalist Andy South is no exception to the rule. He has decided to ditch his male identity that fans of the show remember in order to live his life as a woman.
At the time of appearing on Project Runway in 2010 (the season with Mondo and Gretchen), the Waianae, Hawaii native was openly gay and known for remaining soft-spoken and polite while avoiding the behind-the-scenes drama of the show. Now, photos on Facebook reveal a woman with long brown hair, a full face of makeup and a slender frame.
"Thank you to my fans and friends who have supported me all the way," the 25-year-old designer wrote on June 3, according to RadarOnline. "To my family for seeing me for me and for all the love I am surrounded with. Much has changed in a year," the reality star added. "I am blessed to be accepted and welcomed just the way I am. May that love flow through me and onto many others. Live in love for the world needs it."
Honestly though, is this really that big of a deal? As long as she's living a happier and more-fulfilled life, good for her! We think she looks damn good, and whether or not you agree with the choice, there's no question that the level of talent when it comes to clothing design will remain the same. What's your opinion?
