I'm really not having all of NBC's dastardly attempts to ruin – my – summer, and the news that B.J. Novak has a foot out of the door on The Office doesn't do anything to curb my everlasting belief that the Peacock is going to be screwed beyond all possible belief come September. This greets disappointing Office developments that have been popping up all year long: Mindy Kaling (who played Kelly) has also ditched the show in order to lead Fox's The Mindy Project, Paul Lieberstein (who played Toby) is exiting as showrunner, and James Spader is also out after just one year in Michael Scott's shoes. It's also expected that Ed Helms and John Krasinski will appear in fewer episodes this year as they continue to make dents in the big screen.

And on top of all this, TVGuide reports that writer and star B.J. Novak no longer has an official deal in place as a full-time member of The Office, though he will expectedly make recurring appearances as Ryan Howard. And if our luck would have it, he may even do some occasional writing and directing for the show's new season to air this September, which now consists of Rainn Wilson and fuck whoever else.
