Our favorite Kardashian sister turns 28 today, so it’s only right that we celebrate by letting you all know why she's our favorite! Unlike some other members of the Kardashian fam, Khloe is able to take a tense situation and make it hilarious, always speaks honestly and frankly about her life and is more focused on her family than she is on the spotlight. Hopefully this is Khloe’s greatest year yet! If she isn’t your favorite Kardashian sister yet (if you like them at all), here are five reasons why she should be.
She’s Confident With Her Body: While many other Hollywood stars in their 20s feel the pressure to be super skinny, Khloe has always been vocal about the importance of loving your body, regardless of its size and shape: "Everyone criticizes me about my weight all the time," she told Life and Style in 2009. "It’s easy for me to be like some other girls in Hollywood—not eat and become anorexic—but thank goodness I am strong-willed and secure with myself." Although Khloe has admitted to feeling the pressure to stay slim, she has always embraced her image, sending a positive message to the young girls who follow her show. It’s refreshing to see a young woman in the spotlight who is open about and proud of her body, and isn’t planning on changing it to please fans anytime soon.
She Doesn’t Take Fame Too Seriously: Unlike sister Kim, who always seems to be freaking out if even the slightest thing goes wrong, Khloe clearly doesn’t give a shit about embarrassing herself. Case in point: the 28-year-old suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction during an appearance on Fox and Friends while appearing with momager Kris Jenner. Instead of expressing her mortification from the nip-slip, Kourtney laughed it off: "I had a nip slip and I love it," she tweeted after news spread. "Thank god I fucking love my nipples." Her reaction is definitely not something you hear often among celebrities, but the humor she provides in even the most uncomfortable situations is priceless.
She Says It How It Is: Khloe has always been the most outspoken Kardashian sister, whether she’s warning Kim about her marriage to Kris Humphries or insulting Kourtney’s baby daddy Scott for being a jerk, which everyone knows he is. Although she may come off as somewhat (or very) harsh, it’s obvious that she always has her family’s best interests at heart. She saw a bad seed in Kris Humphries from the start, and she definitely wasn’t wrong about that marriage failing. In addition to her sound advice, Khloe is the wittiest of the girls. She is able to take a tense situation and make it less stressful by cracking a joke. After the Kardashian girls were criticized for wearing a lot of makeup, Khloe quipped that she and her sisters "turned out to be the biggest trannies."
Her Marriage Comes First: Khloe showed the world that her family is the most important thing in her life by halting her reality television show to focus on her marriage. After hubby Lamar Odom was benched from the LA Lakers and needed time to rebuild his confidence as an athlete, the reality star pulled the plug on filming the coming season of the couple’s reality series Khloe & Lamar. "I think what makes a marriage work is honestly, loyalty and prioritizing," she told PEOPLE. "And we just want to prioritize a little. Life is short." Khloe has also remained mum about her struggles with conception, and is privately undergoing fertility treatments. It’s refreshing to see something so personal and private that is NOT being televised for once. Way to keep some of your struggles your own!
She Saves Tigers: She’s devoted to her family and saving wildlife? According to TMZ, Khloe successfully raised thousands of dollars to help save endangered tigers in the wild. The reality star posted a tweet to fans asking them to donate directly to the World Wildlife Fund New Years Day, and donate they did. In addition to raising more than $10,000, Khloe also adopted a tiger online (and made mom Kris adopt one too). It’s nice to see at least one Kardashian Klan member doing something charitable. With the amount of money they make just living life, it’s only right if some of it goes to a good cause!
