Ugh. I guess we have to do this, because Twitter is talking about it, even though it would be more pleasant to commit self-immolation than to watch a segment from First Take. Deep breath. OK, we're good. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban appeared on ESPN today to give Skip Bayless a piece of his mind. And it wasn't pretty.
Sometimes it takes a douchebag to sink a douchebag, and sometimes it takes a semi-articulate person capable of basic critical thinking to outwit Skip Bayless. Cuban essentially repeated the party line when he attacked Bayless: Skip's opinions are based on generalities and are designed to be inflamatory to gain a response from viewers. SHOCK!
Cuban's basic premise is that Skip Bayless is a self-promoter who inserts himself more than necessary into the LeBron James narrative and doesn't give enough credit to the Mavs for stopping James. Fair enough. Whatever.
Let the record show that Mark Cuban doesn't deserve any sort of award for criticizing Skip Bayless, because Cuban also relies on simplistic arguments based on thin facts (see: NBA lockout). Nobody's a winner here.
Watch it if you dare; we're going to go wash the taste of complicity in Skip Bayless' nefarious project out of our mouths.
